They are an alternative rock group, not a favorite band by any means, but I enjoy quite a few of their songs. This week’s Guess that Song is written by Good Charlotte, a band formed in Maryland in 1996. They have such a competitive drive for the smallest things.
I swear it is like an unspoken rule that the first person to turn in their exit ticket is temporarily the best mathmatician in the class. They just want to eat, go outside, and be the first person to turn in their exit ticket. They’re so different from high school kids they don’t have a worry in the world. I should ask one of the kids to write me letters of recommendation, honestly. None of them wanted to do my homework for me anymore after that. Today, I showed them my dog, Oliver, wearing my glasses. I love being in here for the kids, but I mostly like being around my mom. Sometimes, I teach a little and tutor my mom says they talk about it before I walk in. I’m not really sure why, but they really do enjoy my presence. I can’t imagine what the high school curriculum will be like in a few years. They’re learning what I learned in sixth grade in the fourth grade. She teaches fourth grade math and it’s changed from what I did in fourth grade. She was my fifth grade teacher back in the day and it’s like a blast from the past. I like the sound of my mom’s teaching voice. Plus, I always feel like a special guest. She’s always teaching when I come in, but I think that since these kids are learning I do too. I get so much work done in her room - probably because there is zero cell service, but I also like the atmosphere. I spend one of my class periods in my mom’s room and, sometimes more, if I can sneak away. I’m not sure why I enjoy doing my work around fourth graders, but I do.
